With your local operators and authorities we're working on making fflecsi services available at various locations across Wales. We'll keep you updated here, so keep a look out for a service coming near you

fflecsi is an exciting new pilot service from Transport for Wales and local bus operators. We’ll be monitoring whether or not it helps people to travel and if it proves popular, some fflecsi services could continue to run alongside your normal scheduled bus services once we’re all travelling again.

How does it work?

fflecsi buses can pick you up and drop you off in the service area and not just at a bus stop. A bus picks you up at your request, changing its route so that all passengers can get to where they need to go. Replacing a number of scheduled bus services in your area, fflecsi is designed to help people make essential local journeys.

Your safety is paramount, and we’ve designed fflecsi to carry passengers safely. Knowing how many passengers we’re picking up means we can send the right size vehicle to pick you up and maintain social distancing.

Questions?

fflecsi works with local operators to make sure you can travel when you need to. Check your areas page to find out where you can travel.

With your local operators and authorities we’re working on making fflecsi services available at various locations across Wales.

fflecsi is designed to be an affordable service, so currently normal bus fares still apply.  For fare information please check Newport Transport website. You can still use your season or pre-purchased ticket.

NHS, Ambulance, Fire and Police Service personnel travel for free during the pandemic. Simply show your staff ID badge to the driver.

MyTravelpass discounts apply.

You can also use your 60 and over and disabled concessionary travel card.

fflecsi responds to current demand, so you can only book when you’re about to travel.  There’ll be a choice of services available.

Yes. You can use your concessionary card on all fflecsi services.

You pay on the bus using a contactless bank card or Smartcard. We’re sorry but we’re unable to accept cash payments at this time.

The best way to book and manage your journeys is to download our app on your smartphone or tablet but you can still call to book by calling us on 0300 234 0300.

Our app provides you with a quick and easy way to request fflecsi. Once you’ve booked, our app updates you on the current location of your bus, where it’ll pick you up and when it’ll arrive.

If you don’t have a smartphone or tablet you can call us to book on 0300 234 0300.

Your bus will pick you up from a convenient point near to where you are, but this may not be at a bus stop. If you’re using our app, it will show you where your pick-up point is.

If you call us to book, our adviser will explain where your pick-up point is.

Our app will tell you when your bus will arrive. Please make sure you’re at your pick-up point in plenty of time.

We need to make sure your fflecsi service runs smoothly as other passengers will be relying on it.  Your bus will wait for you for 2 minutes but will then need to leave to pick up the next passenger.

This is a pilot being run by local operators, councils and Transport for Wales to see how well responsive travel serves our communities.

If the pilot goes well, we’ll plan to introduce fflecsi to more service areas working in partnership with local operators.

We’ll  develop new ways to book  in  the coming months, including enabling you to book in advance on buses which will link with rail services

By booking the service you want to use, we can make sure that our buses pick-up only as many passengers as can be safely carried while maintaining social distancing.

Our buses are deep cleaned every night and we regularly clean main customer touchpoints such as hand poles and grab rails.

You pay on the bus using a contactless bank card or Smartcard. We’re sorry but we’re unable to accept cash payments at this time.

fflecsi services are provided by local bus operators working with councils and Transport for Wales.
